Debris Pick-up Update 10/3/2017

Limb Debris Update 10/3/17:

  • Second Ave Update:

    • Waste Pro Claw Truck will be out today on West Second Ave. Please make sure items are distanced from limb debris.  Due to the low hanging power lines the truck can only get to certain areas.  Again, this truck fills up quick and disposing at appropriate approved dump sites creates additional delays.

    • Either Dobson’s or Enviro will be removing the debris at the end of W Second Ave this afternoon or first thing tomorrow morning.  The debris would need to be chipped prior to hauling based on the turn radius and low hanging lines entering the site.

    • We are aware of the blocked hydrant near the end of W Second Ave.

    • This area is a priority and we are focusing our resources to this area as they become available.

  • Park Avenue:

    • Crews will be out today taking care of the roadways South of Park Ave and will continue until the end of the week.

    • This Saturday we will have a convoy of crews clearing the debris on Park Ave.  Traffic impacts will continue throughout that day.

  • Main St.

    • This Saturday we will have a convoy of crews clearing the debris on Park Ave.  Traffic impacts will continue throughout that day.

  • Manors

    • This area is a priority and we are focusing our resources to this area as they become available.  Due to the lack of tree canopy we are trying to focus the claw trucks to these areas so that the grapple and loaders can be allocated to locations that have clearance obstacles.

  • General Resident Info

    • Any debris that is dumped by a Tree Service or Contractor will be tagged and assessed to that property owner. This debris should be hauled away by the hired firm.  Code Enforcement will be driving around Town tomorrow documenting these sites.

    • Tree Permits: Required for any tree removal of trees not impacted by the Storm. All removal permits will resume on Monday.

    • Residents should not dump debris at the Towns designated sites. Please contact Orange County for their locations. We have FEMA regulators at these sites and we need to make sure all debris is from the Town and documented.

    • Please try to keep the roadways and right of ways clear. Cars parked or landscapers blocking debris will delay the hauling process.

    • As always, we appreciate your continued patience at this time. Staff is working as fast as we can to complete the debris pickup but please remember that this was a statewide storm event so the resources available are on high demand. In addition, we are having to make sure we meet all FEMA guidelines to ensure reimbursement.

Thank you for your patience!
